Jon A. Hinden

 

Jon A. Hinden has been a lawyer in South Florida since 1986, providing legal services in the areas of business and commercial transaction and litigation matters, manufactured housing, residential and commercial real estate, land development and zoning law, probate and estate planning including wills, living trusts and related estate planning documents.

 

Mr. Hinden and his law firm served as the Town Attorneys for the Town of Davie for over twenty years. Mr. Hinden has handled real estate and business transactional matters including business and commercial real estate transactions and closings up to $300,000,000, community-wide transactions and residential closings, particularly in the manufactured housing industry. Mr. Hinden and his law firm represent a large number of manufactured home community owners and managers, providing legal services of every type and manner associated with all elements of the operation of a MHC community, including community purchase and sale and refinance transactions and closings, resolving and litigating community-wide matters with homeowners’ associations and Chapter 723 landlord-tenant work of every variety.

 

Mr. Hinden is very involved in the Broward County community including coaching and teaching kids in a variety of sports and activities. Mr. Hinden attended the United States Naval Academy, University of Florida and Nova Southeastern University law school.

Suzanne M. McLean

 

Suzanne McLean has more than 22 years of litigation experience in state and federal trial and appellate courts in the State of Florida, including complex commercial litigation and the representation of governmental entities, banking institutions and commercial and residential landlords. Ms. McLean also provides transactional representation, including review and preparation of complex commercial contracts.

 

Past Cases include:

 

  • Successfully defended on appeal seller in a commercial real estate transaction brought by prospective buyer, in which the seller retained $550,000 in deposits by virtue of a liquidated damages clause in the agreement for purchase and sale.
  • Obtained distribution of over two million dollars for charitable organization in settlement of a lawsuit over claims to invalidate and set aside wills and trust documents.
  • Successfully defended individual seller of real property in litigation brought by buyer for breach of contract and fraud in the trial court and on appeal.
  • Obtained a money judgment in excess of $1,000,000 for a client (creditor) in an adversary action filed in bankruptcy court.
  • Prevailed at both jury and bench trials for landlords.
  • Prevailed at trial in case brought on behalf of a building materials supplier against a property owner for foreclosure of construction lien.
  • Provided representation for grand jury and other federal and state subpoenas served on clients.
  • Obtained money judgments for a bank client in excess of $7,000,000 from 2010-2012 in commercial/residential foreclosure and damage actions on notes, guaranties, and deficiencies.
  • Obtained money judgments for individual clients in excess of $1,000,000 on claims brought for fraud, civil conspiracy, and violation of the state and federal RICO laws as a result of a ponzi scheme.
  • Successfully defended sibling Trustee in trust litigation instituted by family member for breach of fiduciary duties.

Shawn D. Arbeiter

 

Shawn D. Arbeiter has been a Florida lawyer since 1998. He has personally handled thousands of landlord/tenant matters for manufactured housing community owners located in Florida and based throughout the United States, including numerous landlord/tenant cases for commercial and residential landlords. Of note, in 2015, Mr. Arbeiter was retained as co-counsel for a manufactured housing community owner in Palm Beach County to complete a large scale change-in-land-use eviction.  In 2011, Mr. Arbeiter was retained as lead counsel for a Commercial Landlord in Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc. v. Dollar Tree Stores, Inc., Big Lots Stores, Inc. and Dolgencorp, LLC filed in the United States District Court, Southern District of Florida, which sought damages in excess of $50 million dollars. In 2009, Mr. Arbeiter was retained as co-counsel for one of the largest manufactured housing eviction lawsuits in Broward County, FL.

Additionally, Mr. Arbeiter represents numerous clients in commercial litigation, real estate litigation, breach of contract disputes, foreclosure litigation, and guardianships cases.

Mr. Arbeiter is also admitted to practice in Federal Court in the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit; the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida; and in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

Mr. Arbeiter graduated from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center in 1998 with honors, and graduated  from the University of Florida in 1995 with honors.

Jayme Day

 

Jayme Day has been a Florida lawyer since 2014.  She has litigation experience in the areas of commercial, business, labor and employment, civil rights and criminal law.  Ms. Day has successfully litigated cases for both public and private employees throughout Broward County in complex labor and employment and civil rights matters.  She has also provided representation on behalf of businesses and employers, defending against labor and employment disputes and providing legal services in various aspects of business and commercial litigation and transactional matters.

 

Additionally, Ms. Day has handled landlord/tenant matters for manufactured housing community owners in Florida, providing representation for residential and commercial landlords.

 

Ms. Day graduated from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law School in 2014, with honors, and graduated from Florida Atlantic University in 2011, with honors.

Barry S. Webber - of counsel

 

Barry S. Webber has been practicing law and has been active in the Broward County community since 1969. His practice concentrates on commercial transactions and litigation, banking, real property, governmental and land development matters. Mr. Webber worked with condominium developers in developing condominium documentation and closing the condominium units in large residential developments. Mr. Webber served as the assistant to the City Attorney in the City of Miramar, served as the City Attorney for Cooper City and served as the Town Attorney of the Town of Davie for twenty years during which time the Town developed from a small rural community that did not have an ad valorem tax to a thriving municipality with a population in excess of 70,000 residents. Mr. Webber has provided representation to the banking community throughout his career and has provided representation to de novo banks in the charter application process.

 

Mr. Webber served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Citizens National Bank from 1972 with its merger with Atlantic National Bank. He then served as an advisory Director with Atlantic National Bank and First Union Bank. Mr. Webber joined the Board of Directors of Regent Bank in 1992, where he remains as a member of the Board and chairs the Compensation Committee. Mr. Webber is a former chairman of the I7"F" Grievance Committee of the Florida Bar. Mr. Webber is a Charter Member, past President, past Director and current member of the Davie/Cooper City Rotary Club, former Director of the Davie Chamber of Commerce, organizer and past President of the Davie Toastmasters Club, current Director of the Town of Davie Economic Development Council, past President of the Golden Isles Homeowners Association and in 1996 was appointed by the Broward County Commission to the Broward County Marine Advisory Committee where he currently serves as Vice-Chair.

 

Mr. Webber graduated from Florida Atlantic University and is a Member of the Charter Graduating Class of the Florida State University College of Law.
